Our year 12 learners were visited by Maryam from Uptree for an introduction into all the work experience opportunities the company have available.
Uptree is a professional network connecting young people and employers. The company provide young people with free careers, education and experiences of work to drive equality of opportunity for all.
Mariam began the session by sharing the story of a young person who currently works as an apprentice at KPMG thanks to support from Uptree.
After sharing this success story, Maryam went onto outline various events and opportunities Uptree have in the coming months. These opportunities were specifically focused on the STEM field, as this most suited the interest of our learners. The events outlined by Mariam were put on from leading employers, including PWC, KPMG, Verisk, Publicis Groupe and Shawbrook. Activities ranged from CV and interview skills workshops to office tours and speed networking.
Learners then signed up to the Uptree platform and looked more specifically at opportunities that suited their vocational ambitions.
'I really enjoyed sharing the Uptree platform with the LDE learners and look forward to seeing many registrations as they begin participating with our opportunities!’ Maryam, Uptree Outreach officer.
Learners are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity Uptree provides to connect young people to leading employers in their desired career.
