Alongside these plans for development, Liam outlined different priorities that London City Airport are committed to employing to ensure this development is sustainable such as only using new generation aircrafts.

During the session, Liam also spoke about the key role that London City Airport can play in working with people from the local area, increasing employment and career opportunities and even improving the biodiversity of the local area. It was so valuable to see how aviation companies navigate and balance between development, investing in the local community and working hard to find sustainable solutions for the future of flight.

Ernest, Aviation learner shared, ‘Liam’s talk was very informative, it gave us an understanding of what London City Airport has to offer the local community and how it intends to connect to the wider world. During the Q&A, I asked how the airport plans to handle increased demand with the limited airport space and how they could expand the airport to keep up with the demand. I also asked about noise regulation and how this can negatively affect the local community.’
