During British Science Week, our Year 12 T Level learners were immersed in a STEM celebration at Middlesex University, offering a glimpse into the possibilities that higher education and careers in STEM fields hold. This event, packed with interactive sessions and expert-led workshops, highlighted the vast array of STEM subjects and careers available to young people.
Ruth Amos, an award-winning British inventor, engaged learners with her inventive journey, illustrating the creative potential within STEM. A hands-on robotics workshop allowed learners to delve into engineering and programming, aligning perfectly with the T Level digital production, design, and development curriculum, and showcasing the practical applications of their studies.
"Our learners gained firsthand insights into emerging technologies and their relevance to higher education and future careers," noted Amit, our Computer Science T level teacher.
Learners enjoyed memorable interactions such as building and commanding student-designed robots, unravelling the mysteries of diseases through molecular biology, and stepping into the creative roles of film and animation production.
Special thanks to Middlesex University, Ruth Amos, and all the professionals who contributed to this enriching experience. It's encounters like these that empower our learners to envision their futures in the ever-evolving world of STEM.
