Our Digital Media learners were invited to the annual UTC Media Showcase where they presented their showreels at the Showcase cinema in Sheffield! 

Alongside 7 other Media UTCs, our learners had the chance to share showreels of their work on various projects over the digital media and computing courses. Notably, learners showcased work from collaborative projects with esteemed employers like Disney, Industrial Light & Magic, Escape Studios and even our very own chaplaincy team. 

Our selected Digital Media learners enjoyed an action-packed day exploring the vibrant city of Sheffield before reaching the cinema where they had the opportunity to meet with students from other UTCs as well as employers at Baker Dearing Trust.  

“We are extremely proud of our learners for presenting their amazing work alongside media specialist UTCs despite us being an Design & Engineering UTC. This is testament to how passionate our Digital Media learners are and how great the media provision is in the college!” Uzma, Teacher of Digital Media and Computing. 

It was truly special to see all the hard work and development our learners have achieved since joining in September and even greater being able to enjoy this on the big screen among other creative and talented peers from across the country.

Reflecting on the day, year 12 learner Sonny shared, “I had an amazing time going to Sheffield with my friends and showing people what we do at LDE UTC as well as what other colleges do, it was overall a splendid experience.”
