Celebrating Destination Success: British Airways

The Aviation course is designed to meet industry needs and is specifically tailored to fit industry recruitment needs in terms of knowledge, skills and behaviours. It allows a natural fit into apprenticeships or higher education - or directly into employment. Partnering with this blended learning provision, we have offered countless careers opportunities that provide learners with an informed perspective of the industry they’re aspiring to enter and an understanding of the professional world.

Following their studies on the Aviation course at London Design and Engineering UTC, alumni Yusuf, Owais, Savyana, Elijah have begun exciting roles as apprentices at the British Airways. These inspiring alumni represent just a few of the many learners who have seized the careers and employer engagement opportunities we offer throughout the college.

British Airways, along with other industry leaders such as Embraer and London City Airport, have visited our college and supported in the delivery of the aviation curriculum. As a result, our learners are well acquainted with the values of British Airways and equipped with an understanding of what it takes to succeed in industry.

Learners Owais, Savyana and Ahmed are pursuing an apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance, while Elijah will be working as a Supply Chain Engineer. British Airways offer their apprentices the opportunity to engage in real-world aviation projects and receive valuable mentorship to develop their careers.

Owais shares, “this apprenticeship has been a fantastic opportunity; LDE has provided us with so much valuable experience, especially with employers, which has helped lead me to this point in my career.”

Savyana echoed her colleague's sentiments, sharing, “It's very exciting; not a lot of people have this chance, so I am very happy to have it. I am very grateful to everybody that supported me in the college, especially my Careers Advisor Janice.”

We are immensely proud of our alumni and continue to celebrate their vocational journey as they progress.
