Apprenticeships at the Royal Navy

Our year 12 learners were virtually visited by five members of the royal navy for a talk about their apprenticeship opportunities and career pathways.

The Royal Navy is active all around the world and is responsible for protecting our nation’s interests whilst acting as a peacekeeper on the global stage.

Learners benefitted from hearing from the perspective of five different naval staff who discussed their job role and how they advanced into that role. They also shared the highlights of their career, the reasons why they decided to join the Royal Navy and shared life onboard ships and submarines. Our visitors also shared key information about the apprenticeships at the Royal Navy and the range of career opportunities they offer. Most appealing to our learners the engineering branches at the Royal Navy; the air engineers, marine engineers and weapons engineers. Learners also gained insight into different skills and qualifications needed to advance in the Royal Navy at the GCSE, A-level, B-Tech and T-level stage as well as sharing information about scholarships available and salaries.
