Our year 10 Computer Science and year 12 Engineering Learners were invited to attend a construction and engineering careers fair- organised by Tower Hamlets Council and hosted at University of East London. 

Our learners had the opportunity to meet with over 25 well known employers including: Ballymore, Balfour Beatty, Canary Wharf Group Plc, Skanska CITB, Kier, Troup, Bywaters & Anders, Munnelly Service Group and Eurovia.

In meaningful conversations with these employers, our learners discussed apprenticeships, internships and training opportunities. They also learnt about the career pathways into various professions as well as the day-to-day job roles of these professions.  

Computer Science teacher Alan shared that ‘It was good opportunity for learners to get an insight into large companies and pathways into them. At the careers fair, our learners enjoyed great interactions, valuable career advice and a bunch of free goodies!’   

Through giving learners a window into big companies and the industries they trade in, we hope to showcase the many career opportunities that are available, and the skills needed to thrive in this industry.
