Last week, London Design and Engineering UTC alumni returned to the VR Lab to connect with Year 12 Digital Media learners and share their experiences since leaving LDE.
The session gave learners a glimpse into life beyond sixth form, from university pathways to creative industry roles, and helped them see how the skills they’re developing now can shape exciting futures in digital production and design.
Through a mix of informal mentoring and hands-on activities, learners explored everything from building professional portfolios to the basics of 3D modelling, gaining practical insight and real-world perspective from those who’ve recently walked the same path.
“I love coming back to show everyone what they can achieve,” said Rosie Scott, LDE UTC alumna, Newham Data Ambassador, and current student at Escape Studios.

These moments of connection remind us of the power of community and how alumni play a vital role in motivating, guiding, and inspiring the next generation of LDE UTC learners.
About IndEX Inspire (Masterclasses)
This activity forms part of our IndEX Inspire (Masterclasses) programme, one of four employer-led touchpoints at LDE UTC. IndEX Inspire brings professionals, including our own alumni, into the classroom to share their stories, link learning to industry, and empower students to imagine what comes next.
Every IndEX experience is designed to connect learning with industry.
If you’re an LDE UTC alumnus or industry professional interested in supporting future learners, we’d love to hear from you.
