The festive season has officially begun at LDE UTC for 2025 and the atmosphere across the building already feels special. Today marked the start of our celebrations and the energy was brilliant. Our Elf on the Shelf was discovered in a record-breaking four minutes, setting a fun and lively tone for what is shaping up to be a joyful few weeks.

Alongside the elf hunt, we are launching our giant Advent Calendar and the Twelve Days of Christmas nominations. This is our chance to recognise the people who make our community stronger every day. Our learners, staff, families, governors and partners contribute so much to LDE UTC through their achievements, kindness, support and progress. The Advent Calendar is our way of shining a light on those contributions and celebrating them in a meaningful way.

Anyone connected to LDE UTC can submit a nomination. Each day, one individual will be selected by our Governing Body and celebrated with a dedicated space in the Advent Calendar and a festive prize. All nominations must be submitted by 15 December 2025. It is a simple gesture, but one we hope will lift spirits and remind people how valued they are.

There is much more to look forward to as the term continues. Our Learner Awards Evening is fast approaching and will give us an opportunity to celebrate excellence across the school. We are also preparing for our ten-year celebratory dinner, an important milestone for LDE UTC and a moment for our community to come together.
The end of the year always brings a sense of reflection and togetherness. At LDE UTC, it is also a moment to celebrate the creativity, resilience and generosity that define our community. We hope the next few weeks bring joy, connection and plenty of festive cheer.
